Hurry up and wait.....

1Samuel 12:16, 24
"Now therefore, stand and see this great thing which the LORD will do before your eyes... Only fear the LORD, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

This is the verse the Lord gave to me a few months back when this whole thing seemed so impossible and it has continually been one I have clung to.   When we looked at all that needed to be done and the finances we would need, we couldn't see how it could ever really happen.  But we knew that the Lord is so much bigger than what we can comprehend and we stepped out in faith, believing He was leading us in this direction.

We had our sale on Memorial Day weekend, and in spite of the cold, wind and rain...we sold almost everything we owned...it was an awesome turnout!

The busyness and physical, emotional and mental exhaustion of selling all our stuff and moving out of the house is finally over and we have moved into a bedroom of a friend until we leave.  It is very freeing to let go of 'things'!

A few scriptures that the Lord has put on our hearts the past few years have been very significant in all of this:

Mat 6:19-21

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Col 3:1-2

"...keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth."

Heb 12:1

".... lay aside every encumbrance...and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."

The 'waiting' mode.....

I think this might be the hardest part yet.  We are now 'homeless' and have finished up all our jobs.  The daily routine that was such a part of our everyday lives for so many years is now all changed..we have no 'daily routine'!   It is hardest for Steve....not getting up everyday and loading up his work truck and heading out to a job.  He is trying to find a 'new normal'....and spends alot of time now playing the guitar and reading the Word.. both good things!   All that is left now is to pack our bags and set our sights on what lies ahead.  We leave on June 23....less than 2 weeks away!

We have been approved as missionaries with Saving Grace World Missions and are very excited about being a part of their ministry.  They will be a big help to us in facilitating so many aspects and we are looking forward to working with them.  A very good thing is that our supporters will have the ability to make donations online at their website.  As soon as this is all set up, we will be letting you know, but until that is finalized, Calvary Chapel Vancouver will still be taking the donations for us.  To learn more about Saving Grace, visit their website at: www.sgwm.com.

We want to thank you all again for your prayers and encouragement and support!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful team for this ministry!
